Class Change Policy
Our goal at Pine View Intermediate is to provide a rich academic environment that meets the needs of all students. We focus on preparing our students for the challenges of school and life after school. This means preparing students to face adversity and equipping them with the skills to adjust to a variety of teachers, professors, employers, and others. Our students will gain much from curriculum, lectures, projects, and assignments. However, the educational process includes far more than that; students also gain valuable insight and maturity from interacting with different people and adjusting to a variety of teachers.
It is important to realize that the Pine View Intermediate master schedule is based upon the student requests made during the class registration process. The number of course sections within each subject area are based on student requests. Counselors spend a considerable amount of time in the spring/summer ensuring students have the courses needed, as well as their chosen electives or alternates, as requested.
Once requests are scheduled, it is difficult to make a schedule change because many classes will be at or near capacity. Therefore, we anticipate minimal options for schedule changes.
Because of the impact and disruption changes have on class size and to ensure the balance of class loads, class capacities will NOT be overfilled.
Counselors will do their best to make changes as quickly as possible, however, it may take up to a week for a change to be processed depending on the number of requests submitted. Please be patient and do NOT submit a 2nd class change request.
NOTE: The Schedule Change Policy applies to special requests for blended and online class requests as well. A request to make a blended schedule will only be considered within the Class Change window.
Please be aware that a single class change may require other aspects of your student’s schedule to change as well!
Prior to the first day of class students will be given the opportunity to view their class schedule.

Once the school year is underway, students may ONLY request a schedule change within the first 3 DAYS of the SEMESTER.

**If the request involves a full year class the student will be instructed to complete the Paper Class Change form (Requiring Teacher signatures)
Class Change window is open for the first 3 days of each semester.
*It closes the 3rd day into the Semester.
