MHAP-Mental Health Assistance Program
Upon approval, your student can receive five district-funded counseling sessions at no cost to your family. If you would like to explore this option, please set up an appointment with your school counselor to complete a MHAP referral.
Utah School Counseling Model
Utah’s school counseling program helps K-12 students succeed in class, explore future careers, and navigate personal challenges. Counselors teach classroom lessons and meet individually with students to set goals for life after graduation. The state regularly evaluates these programs to make sure every child gets the support they need to succeed.
PVIS Data Project
In Utah, a school counseling data project is an annual initiative where counselors analyze school data—like attendance, test scores, or graduation rates—to spot specific learning or equity gaps. Counselors then create targeted lessons or extra student support to directly fix those identified problems. At the end of the school year, they measure the progress and report the results to the Utah State Board of Education to prove their counseling programs are making a real difference.
